Eugene Frederick (Red) Pierson started
doing auto body repairs in 1951. He opened a shop, which he named
Pierson Auto Body, on Sandy Street in Jacksonville, Illinois,
in 1961.
- He moved to 150 E. Walnut Street in 1968. Gene believed that
a quality product was the best thing he could give his customers.
He built his reputation on giving special attention to each of
his customer's needs.
-
- One of Gene's favorite sayings was, "If you satisfy
one customer, it will surely get you another." The importance
of quality repairs in the foundation on which Pierson Auto Body
is built.
-
- Gene was careful to instill these same values in his son
Shane. Shane worked as an apprentice to his father for a number
of years.
-
- Shane learned the valuable lessons and gained technical knowledge
which allowed him to take over the business when his father passed
away in 1981. Shane assured his customers that the same service
his father upheld would continue.
-
- Because of the changes in auto repair, Pierson Auto Body
has continued to update its facilities. The shop is currently
equipped with a computerized estimating system, an accurate frame
and uni-body structural repair unit, a complete paint mixing
system and many other specialized pieces of equipment.
-
- The Bump Shop addition was constructed in 1997 across the
street at 151 E. Walnut. The auto repair and painting operations
were moved to this new building. The original facility now houses
the cleaning, detailing, towing and rental operations as well
as the office complex.
-
- The Bump Shop is operated by many of the best-qualified people
in the area. The key to our success is our willingness to reach
out to the future and embrace it and its changes. We are leaders
in auto body repair and maintenance. When business dictates,
we make an investment to maintain our place in the industry,
We will make it. And it is our commitment to provide our employees
continuing education in order to meet your repair needs.
